JDSU has announced an agreement to purchase Casabyte Inc., a leading provider of service quality monitoring solutions for mobile network operators.  Casabyte, serves tier-one mobile service providers and addresses the rapidly growing need for quality of service (QoS) test solutions as network operators deliver bandwidth-intensive multimedia content over converged fixed-mobile networks.

Casabyte is to be integrated into JDSU’s Communications Test and Measurement division, providers of service assurance solutions to telecommunications and cable network operators worldwide. Service assurance solutions enable network operators to identify, troubleshoot and prevent network degradation that impairs voice, data, video and mobile service quality. With the addition of Casabyte’s product portfolio, JDSU is now able to offer industry a comprehensive set of service assurance solutions for the deployment of ‘quad-play’ broadband services. 

Casabyte’s service quality monitoring solutions address QoS, endeavouring to reduce customers’ operating expenses and lower ‘churn’ as mobile network operators deploy next generation networks and new, content-rich data and video services.
