The Fluke 87V-Ex is the intrinsically safe version of the most popular meter in the world, the Fluke 87V. Intrinsically Safe (I.S.) are protected methods employed in potentially explosive atmospheres. Certified I.S. tools are designed to prevent the release of sufficient energy to cause ignition of flammable material. I.S. standards apply to all equipment that can create one or more of a range of defined potential explosion sources such as electrical sparks, static electricity and mechanical friction.
Ideal for users in the petrochemical, grain processing, oil platforms and refineries, chemical, off-shore and pharmaceutical industries, the Fluke 87V EX has a full Electrical safety rating : EN61010-1 CAT IV 600V/CAT III 1000V and additional full ATEX safety rating: EX II 2 G EEx ia IIC T4.
The new Fluke 87V-Ex has all the measurement and troubleshooting functions of the proven Fluke 87V. It has measurement functions, troubleshooting features, plus the resolution and accuracy to solve problems on motor drives, in plant automation, power distribution and electromechanical equipment. Unlike most other ATEX-certified tools, it can be used both inside and outside the hazardous zone (ATEX Zones 1 & 2) without compromising performance or compliance. So there’s no need to carry different tools for use inside or outside the hazardous zones. It also has a built-in thermometer with TC probe, further reducing technicians’ tool counts.
