Quality of supply solutions

Fluke 1735Poor power quality is a potential source of problems in motors, cables, lighting, IT networks and more.  It can also lead to unnecessarily high energy bills and even fines for ‘polluting’ the upstream supply.  The capability to locate and analyse power quality problems is now within reach of maintenance and service personnel, with Fluke’s expanded range of power quality tools.

Prevent costly downtime and optimise energy consumption
Problems of overheating motors and cables, tripping circuits or flickering lights which present with no apparent cause are often associated with poor power quality and can be prevented with power disturbance troubleshooting.  Higher than expected energy bills are another area where power quality could be the cause.  With the right tools and know how, power quality problems can be tracked down and rectified to optimise energy consumption.  Utilities can also impose fines if a power quality problem on-site pollutes the supply for others.

Conduct load studies
Power quality analysis has other benefits in industrial organisations.  It can, for example, be used for load studies to determine how many loads a distribution circuit can handle.

Fluke’s new simple, 3-phase 1735 Power Logger provides the optimum functionality for basic power quality testing. It’s ideal for electricians or technicians conducting energy studies and basic power quality logging. The 1735, with colour display, can be set-up in seconds and includes flexible current probes. The 1735 logs most electrical power parameters, harmonics and captures voltage events for a 45 day period.

Other features:
  • Monitors maximum power demand over user-defined averaging periods
  • Proves the benefit of efficiency improvements with energy consumption tests
  • Improves reliability by capturing voltage dips and swells from load switching
  • Measures all three phases and neutral with included 4 flexible current probes
  • Views graphs and generates reports with included Power Log software
  • Compact, rugged design with IP65 case, 600 V CAT III and 2-year warranty

Other models in the power quality range are the 43B, 434 and the new 435 and 1735 models.
