Barend Niemand has been involved in the distribution of electrical and electronic equipment since 1993 and joined Spescom Measure Graph as financial director in 1995. He joined the Comtest team as the Financial Director, In 2014 Peter Vewer, one of the founding members, took a step down in the running of Comtest in order to have a greater role in the development of Instrotech, Barend took over the reins as Managing Director of the group with the retirement of Peter in 2015
John Wilson was employed by Fluke South Africa in the mid 1970’s when the company still had its own operation here. He is a past Chairman (and founder member) of SANAS (the South African National Accreditation System), the founder and Chairman of the MIG (the Metrology Instrumentation Group) and is the vice chairman of the NLA (the National Laboratory Association) of South Africa. Heis also a member of several committees of ILAC (the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation). In addition to the above he is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical Engineers and a Fellow of the Institute of Measurement and Control of South Africa.
Val Verwer set up a marketing and advertising division for Protea Electronics in the mid 1980’s. She left in 1990 to form her own marketing and advertising company, consulting to a number of companies including Protea Electronics and Spescom MeasureGraph on their test and measurement public relations and marketing requirements. Val retired in 2015 handing over all the marketing to Leanne Cole
Hilton Preston was a product managers for Spescom Measure Graph, responsible for the Fluke Calibration. Hilton has been involved in the development and growth of the calibration industry in South Africa since the mid 1990’s.
Today Comtest employs 62 staff members locally and distributes its products through value-added-resellers and sub-distributors situated across South and southern Africa, in Europe, Australia, India and the United Kingdom.
